Seitan Skewers with Spicy almond dipping sauce

Ingredients

Seitan Skewers

1 package Original Blackbird Seitan

2 tablespoons liquid aminos 

1 teaspoon garlic powder, onion powder, red pepper flakes, and ground ginger

½ teaspoon black pepper

8 metal skewers*

*if you are using wooden skewers, soak in water before using them 


Almond Butter Dipping Sauce

3 tablespoons Jem Organics Almond Butter

1 tablespoon maple syrup 

2 tablespoons lime juice

1 tablespoon liquid aminos

1 clove of garlic, minced finely

½ tablespoon red pepper flakes

½ teaspoon ground ginger

Salt and black pepper


Instructions

  1. Mix together liquid aminos, red pepper flakes, garlic powder, onion powder, ground ginger, and black pepper in a medium bowl

  2. Add seitan, cover, and allow to marinate in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes 

  3. Preheat oven to 400 degrees

  4. Stick seitan pieces onto skewers until all the seitan has been used up

  5. Line skewers on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper or sprayed with oil 

  6. Bake for 12-15 minutes or until crispy

  7. In the meantime, make the almond butter sauce by whisking together all the ingredients

  8. Remove skewers from the oven and allow to cool slightly

  9. Serve skewers with almond butter dipping sauce
